Royal Mara Safari Lodge

About the Company

The Royal Mara is ideally situated for safari game drive viewing. The lodge and camp is set out in the Mara North Conservancy (formerly called Koyiaki conservation area) approximately five miles upriver from the world renowned Koyiaki-Kichwa migration crossing point. Leopard Gorge and Musiara Marsh made famous by the BBC's Big Cat Diary program are just a four mile and seven mile distance respectively south of the Royal Mara. The other well known crossing point at "Mara Serena" is only a fifteen mile game drive down river from the Royal Mara. Several lion prides are within proximity of the lodge with the "Maternity" pride on our periphery, the "Aitong" pride to our north and the Musiara Marsh, "Acacia Woodland," and Ridge prides to our south. In contrast to the National Reserve area, the Mara North Conservancy allows game walks enabling us to offer our guests a fulfilling safari experience.
